Sunday 24 April 2016: Free guided excursions to the Testa del Duce and to the Gola del Furlo
Two free walks with guides are offered to know nature and history in the Reserve. Both walks will be starting at 10.00 from the Golena del Furlo. The longer and more difficult one is to the Testa del Duce, the panoramic cliff on Monte Pietralata where a profile in honour of Benito Mussolini was scolped during the Thirties as he was used to stop at Furlo on his trips from Rome to his native village of Predappio in Romagna. Duration of the hike: about 4 hours. Distance: about 14 km. Drop: 500 mts. Sack-lunch. The easier walk, accessible to everybody, will be a 2 hours flat excursion to visit the Gola del Furlo.
Free admittance. Reservation is required for both events by April 22. Contact the Riserva Naturale Statale Gola del Furlo tourist office (punto IAT Furlo). Phone: 0721-700041. E-mail: riservafurlo@provincia.ps.it
