Sunday 23 August 2015: Archaeological walk, Un Furlo di fiabe, Tra le meraviglie della Gola
The guided archaeological walk starts at 9.30 from the Enel dam to discover the two tunnels bored by the Romans along the consular Via Flaminia and the other archaeological sites in the territory of the Natural Reserve. In fact the consular road Via Flaminia, built by the Romans in the III century B.C. to connect Rome to Rimini, passed through the Gola del Furlo. Then the excursion will take the visitors to the Grotta del Grano, the place where a castle was built by the Goths. Duration of the excursion: about 2 hours. Distance: about 4 km. Meeting point at the Enel dam. How to get there: leave the motorway Acqualagna-Fano at Calmazzo.
In the afternoon a reading workshop of timeless fables and stories and a creative workshop are for adults and children. Un Furlo di fiabe.. per tutte le età is the title of the event. Meet at 15.30 at the tourist office (punto IAT Furlo) in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna– via Flaminia n.36. Thanks to the suggestions given by the Gola del Furlo, the event is for all those who like to enter the magical world of fantasy.
The last event of the day is Tra le meraviglie della Gola, the guided walk taking place on Sundays to visit the tunnels bored by the Romans along the consular via Flaminia and to discover the marvels of nature in the reserve of Gola del Furlo. A guide will explain the sorts of plants and flowers and talk about the wild animals and birds of prey, such as the golden eagle, which can be observed in the natural reserve. The route of the excursion is flat and accessible to everybody. Duration of the walk: about 2 hours. Meeting point at 17.30 at the Enel dam. How to get there: leave the motorway Acqualagna-Fano at Calmazzo.
