Two autumn colourful walks across the Reserve are in program, perfect for soaking up the season. Guests can also complete their journey into the Reserve’s nature by visiting the museum Lorenzo Mannozzi Torini where a large collection of stuffed animals, rocks and fossils is hosted.

In the morning a guided walk to Monte Pietralata’s panoramic terrace is the opportunity offered to admire the striking autumn colours and dramatic vistas of the Furlo gorge. Meet at 9.30 at the Natural Reserve of Gola del Furlo visitor centre in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36. Visitors are recommended not to come by low vehicles as the distance to cover to the refuge on Monte Pietralata is on a mountain road. Wear hiking attire. Return will be around 1pm. Botanists and ornithologists will explain the sorts of plants and flowers and talk about the birds, such as the golden eagle, which can be observed in the protected area.

In the afternoon the guided walk “Meraviglie d’autunno alla Gola del Furlo” will take visitors to enjoy the autumn colours by a flat itinerary along the dam and across the canyon, an opportunity to discover also the Reserve’s history and wilderness. Meet at 3pm at the Natural Reserve of Gola del Furlo visitor centre in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36.

Free admission. Reservation is required for both events. Contact Natural Reserve Gola del Furlo visitor centre. Phone: 0721-700041. E-mail: riservafurlo@provincia.ps.it
