Two free guided excursions are offered to enjoy nature and a truffle hunting experience in the Reserve.

In the morning guests can profit by Tra le meraviglie della Gola, the guided walk taking place on Sundays to discover the marvels of nature in the Gola del Furlo. A guide will explain the sorts of plants and flowers and talk about the wild animals and birds of prey, such as the golden eagle, which can be observed in the natural reserve. It will be possible to admire also the two tunnels bored by the Romans along the via Flaminia, the consular road built during the III century b.C. to connect Rome to Rimini. The route of the excursion is flat and accessible to everybody. Length of the walk: about 6 kms round trip. Meet at the Visitor Centre of the Natural Reserve Gola del Furlo in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36.

 

 

In the afternoon a truffle hunting demonstration near Acqualagna will reveal the secrets of the truffle, the precious ingredient of the local cuisine. Visitors will be involved in the exciting adventure with a skillful truffle hunter at work with his dog gifted with an infallible nose. The appointment is at 4.00 p.m. at the Visitor centre of the Natural Reserve Gola del Furlo in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36. Visitors will need to travel by car to Monte Pietralata where the truffle hunting takes place.
