Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November 2015: Guided visits, excursion with the meteorologist
Saturday 7 November: Guided walk. Three opportunities are offered during the week-end to visit the Reserve by Tra le meraviglie della Gola, the free guided walk to discover history and nature. The first appointment is on Saturday at 15.00 at the Enel dam of Gola del Furlo. The itinerary will take visitors to the two tunnels bored by the Romans along the consular via Flaminia. A guide will explain the sorts of plants and flowers and talk about the wild animals and birds of prey, such as the golden eagle, which can be observed in the Natural Reserve of Gola del Furlo. Duration of the walk is about 2 hours. The route of the excursion is flat and accessible to everybody
Sunday 8 November: Guided walks, excursion to Monte Pietralata with the meteorologist. The other two opportunities to visit the Reserve by Tra le meraviglie della Gola are on Sunday: the guided walks start at 11.00 and at 15.00 from the Enel dam of Gola del Furlo. Leave the motorway Acqualagna-Fano at Calmazzo and drive in direction of Villa Furlo.
Visitors interested in excursions along mountain trails can opt for Rosso di sera: al Furlo col meteorologo, a free guided walk with a meteorologist to panoramic spots on the Monte Pietralata massif to be taught about how to foresee what the weather will be like. Meet at 9.30 at the tourist office of the Natural Reserve of Gola del Furlo (punto IAT Furlo) in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36. Itinerary: church of Pietralata, peak of Monte Pietralata (889 mts.) and then back to the church of Pietralata. Drop: 400 mts. The distance to cover during the walk is about 8 kilometres. Wear: trekking boots, raincoat, layered clothes. Bring: sack-lunch, water. The activity ends at 16.30. The excursion is organized by Il Ponticello.

The museum hosts a wide collection of embalmed animals, rocks and fossils. Interactive software leads visitors millions of years back in a fun journey to learn the geological and anthropological history of the Gola. The museum is in the Visiting Centre of the tourist office (punto IAT) of the Natural Reserve, in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36. Free entrance. Visiting times: from 9.00 to 13.00 and from 14.00 to 19.00.

Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November 2015: Guided visits, photographic workshop in the Reserve, Halloween for families
Saturday 31 October: Halloween for families at the refuge Ca’ I Fabbri. The Halloween event for families takes place in the afternoon at the refuge Ca’ I Fabbri on the Monte Pietralata massif. During a creative workshop children will carve and decorate pumpkins, make paper bats and prepare tasty biscuits. The event is organized in partnership with Il Ponticello. Families have to bring a pumpkin for each child. Meet at 14.30 at the tourist office of the Natural Reserve of Gola del Furlo (punto IAT Furlo) in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36. Transfer to the refuge by cars. The activity ends at 18.30. Free admittance.

Saturday 31 October through Sunday 1 November: Overnight photography workshop in the Reserve. The week-end dedicated to photograpy takes place at the refuge Ca’ I Fabbri, where visitors will also spend the night and in other panoramic spots in the territory of the Reserve. Lessons will be given by an expert photographer who will also take visitors on a scenic tour great for pictures. Meet on Saturday 31 October at 10.00 at the tourist office of the Natural Reserve of Gola del Furlo (punto IAT Furlo) in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36. First day’s itinerary: church of Pietralata, peak of Monte Pietralata (889 mts.), and then back to the church of Pietralata. Second day’s itinerary: refuge Ca’ I Fabbri, peak of Monte Paganuccio (976 mts.), refuge La Pradella, refuge Ca’ I Fabbri. Wear: trekking boots, raincoat, layered clothes. Bring: sack-lunch, water, sleeping-bag. Guests will reach the refuge from the meet point by their own cars. A small contribution of 25 euros is required for meals served at the refuge. No charge for overnight stay in the refuge and workshop. The event is organized by Il Ponticello. The activities end on Sunday 1 November at 16.00.

Sunday 25 October 2015: Truffle hunting, trekking with a geologist, guided visit to the Reserve
In line with the national white truffle fair taking place in nearby Acqualagna, the seasonal opportunity offered by the Reserve is a truffle hunting demonstration. Visitors will admire a skillful truffle hunter at work with his dog gifted with an infallible nose. The appointment is at 9.30 at the tourist office of the National Reserve of Gola del Furlo (punto IAT Furlo) in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36. Visitors will take their own cars to the forest in Monte Pietralata where the truffle hunting is performed. Duration of the demonstration is about 2 hours. Wear warm clothes and hiking shoes.
The second event offered in the morning is Geotrekking: alla Gola del Furlo con il geologo, a guided walk throughout the Natural Reserve to study the history of the mountains by the rocks, reading sheets of rock instead of sheets of paper. In fact the mountains of the Gola are considered by geologists an open air laboratory. Meet at 9.30 at the tourist office of the Natural Reserve of Gola del Furlo (punto IAT Furlo) in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36. The guide will be an expert geologist. Visitors will take their own cars to the starting point of the walk. The distance to cover during the walk is about 7 kilometres. Duration is about 6 hours. The excursion will reach the stone quarry in Sant’Anna, the hilltop village of Pagino and the refuge of Furlo. Drop: 350 metres. Wear warm clothes and hiking shoes. The excursion is organized by Il Ponticello.

Sunday 18 October 2015: How to read and how to use the hiking map of the Natural Reserve
A free lesson and a practical demonstration about how to use the hiking map of the Natural Reserve Gola del Furlo are given by the local branch of Club Alpino Italiano, the authoritative national association specialized in mountaineering, study of mountains and protection of the environment.

Sunday 13 September 2015: Archaeological walk
The guided archaeological walk starts at 9.30 from the Enel dam to discover the two tunnels bored by the Romans along the consular Via Flaminia and the other archaeological sites in the territory of the Natural Reserve. In fact the consular road Via Flaminia, built by the Romans in the III century B. C. to connect Rome to Rimini, passed through the Gola del Furlo. Then the excursion will take the visitors to the Grotta del Grano, the place where a castle was built by the Goths. Duration of the excursion: about 2 hours. Distance: about 4 km. Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September: Night stay in the hut Ca' I Fabbri
The two days excursion is for families and provides the overnight stay in the hut Ca’ I Fabbri on the Monte Paganuccio massif, a short walk in the night, playful activities, creative workshops, waking up at dawn to admire the rising sun. The appointment is on Saturday 5 September at 15.00 at the tourist office of the Natural Reserve of the Gola del Furlo (punto IAT Furlo) in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna– via Flaminia n.36. Visitors will reach by their own cars the hut which is 10 km away from the meeting place: most of the drive is on a mountain road, so visitors are recommended to come by off road vehicles. Return is on Sunday 6 September at 16.00.
A small money contribution is required for meals served at the hut. No charge for overnight stay in the hut and excursion’s playful activities.

Sunday 30 August 2015: Treasure hunt, guided visit to the natural reserve
Starting at 10.00 at the park La Golena del Furlo a funny event for families takes place thanks to Caccia ai tesori del Furlo, a treasure hunt suitable for children starting from the age of 5. How to get there: leave the motorway Acqualagna-Fano at Furlo.
