Sunday 17 July 2016: Guided walks in the Reserve by "Tra le meraviglie della Gola"
Two opportunities are offered to explore the Reserve by the guided walk “Tra le meraviglie della Gola”. Meet at 9.30 and at 15.30 at the visitor centre of the Natural Reserve of Gola del Furlo in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36. A naturalist guide will explain the sorts of plants and flowers and talk about the wild animals and birds of prey, such as the golden eagle, which can be observed in the natural reserve. It will be possible to admire also the two tunnels bored by the Romans along the via Flaminia, the grand road built during the III century B.C. to connect Rome to Rimini. The route of the excursion will be flat and accessible to everybody. Length of the walk: about 6 kms round trip.

Sunday 10 July 2016: Treasure hunt, excursion, observation of the golden eagles' eyrie
Three free events are offered to enjoy the beauty of nature in the Reserve.
“I reperti naturali”, a creative workshop with treasure hunt for families, will take place in the morning at the park La Golena del Furlo by picking up sticks and stones and everything provided by nature. A guide will teach adults and children how to make objects and tools by handicraft techniques. Meet at 9.30 at the visitor centre of the Natural Reserve Gola del Furlo in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36.
In the afternoon there will be the possibility to choose between “Tra le meraviglie della Gola”, the guided walk taking place every Sunday to discover the marvels of nature in the Gola del Furlo, and a special event dedicated to the observation of the new eyrie built by the pair of golden eagles living in the Reserve.
The guided walk “Tra le meraviglie della Gola” starts at 15.30 from the visitor centre of the Natural Reserve of Gola del Furlo in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36. The guided observation of the new eyrie built this year by the golden eagles will take place at the same time of the walk. Meet at 15.00 at the Grotta del Grano, on the via Flaminia, easy to reach on foot or by bycicle from the little village of Furlo or from the little parking area near the dam. A telescope to scan the crags on the other side of the gorge will be positioned by the guide. Visitors will also be taught about the golden eagle’s physical characteristics and behaviours.

Sunday 3 July 2016: Geological walking tour, flat excursion, observation of the new golden eagles' eyrie
From the morning to the late afternoon three guided events are offered to enjoy the beauty of the Reserve.
In the morning an easy geologic walking tour with a guide up Monte Pietralata will reveal the history of the Gola del Furlo by observing the rocks’ stratigraphic succession from enjoyable panoramic spots. In fact, thanks to their sequence of layered sedimentary rocks the mountains comprising the Reserve are considered a geological atlas by which it is possible to observe the geological eras since 200 millions years ago. The appointment will be at 9.30 at the Visitor Centre of the Natural Reserve Gola del Furlo in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36. The guided tour will continue with a visit to the Lorenzo Mannozzi Torini Territorial Museum where a large collection of stuffed animals, rocks and fossils is hosted. In the museum interactive software leads visitors millions of years back in an exciting journey to discover the geological and anthropological history of the Gola del Furlo.

Two free guided excursions are offered to enjoy nature and a truffle hunting experience in the Reserve.

In the afternoon a truffle hunting demonstration near Acqualagna will reveal the secrets of the truffle, the precious ingredient of the local cuisine. Visitors will be involved in the exciting adventure with a skillful truffle hunter at work with his dog gifted with an infallible nose. The appointment is at 4.00 p.m. at the Visitor centre of the Natural Reserve Gola del Furlo in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36. Visitors will need to travel by car to Monte Pietralata where the truffle hunting takes place.

Sunday 19 June 2016: Hike to Monte Pietralata
The group of Pesaro of the Club Alpino Italiano, the national mountaneering association, organizes a free hike up Monte Pietralata to promote the maintenance of the network of trails. The hike will be from the church at the foot of the mountain to the summit.
Duration of the walk: about 4 hours round trip. Low difficulty level. Wear hiking attire. Meeting point at 8.45 a.m. at the visitor centre – punto IAT Natural Reserve Gola del Furlo in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36.

On the occasion of the Day of trails 2016 the section of Pesaro of Club Alpino Italiano, the national mountaneering association, organizes a free hike to the massif of Monte Pietralata under the theme “Read the map, know the territory”. To take a bearing it will be possible also to use a gps or a compass.

Visits to the museum and free audioguides for hikes in the Reserve
Visits to Lorenzo Mannozzi Torini museum. The museum hosts a large collection of stuffed animals, rocks and fossils. Interactive software leads visitors millions of years back in a enjoyable journey to discover the geological and anthropological history of the Gola del Furlo. An observation system has been created to monitor and show from the museum the golden eagles’ eyries built on the crags in Monte Paganuccio. The museum is in the Visitor Centre of the tourist office (punto IAT) of the Natural Reserve, in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36. Free entrance. Visiting times: from Monday to Friday 9.00 – 13.00; on Saturday and Sunday 9.30 – 13.00 and 14.30 – 18.00.
Hikes in the Natural Reserve with the free audioguides. The Visitor Centre provides free audioguides in English to discover nature and history in the Reserve. Maps and guides detailing routes and day hikes are provided too. Hikes in the Reserve are free and vary from flat short strolls in the area of the roman tunnels and of the romanesque abbey to harder walks to the mountain summits from where it is possible to enjoy grandiose sights over the Apennines. Opening times to get audioguides and maps: from Monday to Friday 9.00 – 13.00; on Saturday and Sunday 9.30 – 13.00 and 14.30 – 18.00.

Sunday 24 April 2016: Free guided excursions to the Testa del Duce and to the Gola del Furlo
Two free walks with guides are offered to know nature and history in the Reserve. Both walks will be starting at 10.00 from the Golena del Furlo. The longer and more difficult one is to the Testa del Duce, the panoramic cliff on Monte Pietralata where a profile in honour of Benito Mussolini was scolped during the Thirties as he was used to stop at Furlo on his trips from Rome to his native village of Predappio in Romagna. Duration of the hike: about 4 hours. Distance: about 14 km. Drop: 500 mts. Sack-lunch. The easier walk, accessible to everybody, will be a 2 hours flat excursion to visit the Gola del Furlo.

After a successful 2015, guided visits and events in the Natural Reserve Gola del Furlo are suspended in winter months. New free appointments will be organized by the Reserve starting from March 2016 and Bonclerici House will keep informing its guests and site visitors about dates and opportunities by this page on its website.
There will be events like excursions to observe the golden eagle’s eyrie, guided archaeological walks to the Roman tunnels along the via Flaminia, guided walks to learn about wildlife species and plants, hikes to the refuge on the massif of Monte Paganuccio, amazing truffle hunts with dogs provided with an infallible nose.
Visitors can contact Bonclerici House and the Reserve’s info point to know the dates of the events in programme. There is no ticket to pay to take part in the events. Just the reservation is necessary. From experienced hikers to families with children everybody will find his suitable and favourite event. The Natural Reserve Gola del Furlo is just 15 km away from Cagli and for its scenic spots and hiking trails is an unmissable destination to enjoy nature and history in Le Marche region.

Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November 2015: Truffle hunting, guided visits, night walk to observe the stars
Saturday 14 November: Guided visit to the Reserve, night walk to observe falling stars. Three opportunities are offered during the week-end to visit the Reserve by Tra le meraviglie della Gola, the free guided walk to discover history and nature. The first appointment is on Saturday at 15.00 at the Enel dam of Gola del Furlo. Leave the motorway Acqualagna-Fano at Calmazzo and drive in direction of Villa Furlo. The excursion will take visitors to the two tunnels bored by the Romans along the consular via Flaminia. A guide will explain the sorts of plants and flowers and talk about the wild animals and birds of prey, such as the golden eagle, which is the symbol of the Natural Reserve of Gola del Furlo. Duration of the walk is about 2 hours. Free admittance.
Guests interested in astronomy can’t miss La Gola delle stelle, a night walk with an astronomer to observe winter constellations and falling stars. Meet at 15.00 at the tourist office of the Natural Reserve of Gola del Furlo (punto IAT Furlo) in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36. Itinerary: refuge La Pradella, Case Sant’Ubaldo (687 mts.) and then back to the refuge La Pradella. Drop: 200 mts. The distance to cover during the walk is about 6 kilometres. Wear: trekking boots, raincoat, layered clothes. Bring: sack-lunch, water. The activity ends at 20.00. The excursion is organized by Il Ponticello. Free admittance.
Sunday 15 November: Truffle hunting demonstration, guided visits to the Reserve. In line with the national white truffle fair taking place in nearby Acqualagna, the truffle hunting demonstration is the seasonal event offered by the Reserve. Visitors will admire a skillful truffle hunter at work with his dog gifted with an infallible nose. The appointment is at 9.30 at the tourist office of the National Reserve of Gola del Furlo (punto IAT Furlo) in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36. Visitors will take their own cars to the forest in Monte Pietralata where the truffle hunting is performed. Duration of the demonstration is about 2 hours. Wear warm clothes and hiking shoes. Free admittance.
The last two free opportunities to visit the Reserve by Tra le meraviglie della Gola are in the morning and in the afternoon: the guided walks to discover nature and the two Roman tunnels start at 11.00 and at 15.00 from the Enel dam of Gola del Furlo. Leave the motorway Acqualagna-Fano at Calmazzo and drive in direction of Villa Furlo.
