Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 July 2017: Guided nature walk and playful activities for children
A free nature walk taking place on Saturday afternoon and playful activities for children in programme on Sunday are the opportunities to help visitors enjoy the Reserve. No guided walks are in programme on Sunday. But everybody can always hike on their own thanks to the Reserve’s great network of trails.
Guided nature walk. Meet on Saturday at 4.30pm at the visitor centre in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36 to explore nature and the great Roman remains along the Gola del Furlo. The guided walk is on the occasion of the first edition of the international festival of nature and rural movies taking place at Furlo. A guide will explain the sorts of plants and flowers and talk about the wild animals and birds of prey, such as the golden eagle, which can be observed in the protected area. It will be possible to admire the two Roman tunnels and other imprints of the Roman past along the Via Flaminia, the grand road built by the consul Caio Flaminio in the III century B.C. to connect Rome to Rimini. The route of the walks will be flat and accessible to everybody.
Playful activities for children. On Sunday 23 families with children can profit by “ConTatto Verde”, games and creative workshops taking place in the wood at Furlo. Meet at 4pm at the nature reserve visitor centre in the village of Furlo di Acqualagna, via Flaminia n.36.
Free admission. Reservation is required for both events. Contact the Nature Reserve visitor centre. Phone: 800 028 800 or 0721-700041. E-mail: riservafurlo@provincia.ps.it
